Recipients

This course is aimed at students and professionals in the world of Ancient History and Archaeology, and in particular those concerned with the process known as romanization.

Objectives

Centuries II and I a. E. are an exciting period in the process of Romanization, since at this stage can be observed phenomena of cultural contact in which Hispanic societies begin to accommodate the new forms of life introduced by Rome. The course aims to address these issues from a site that perfectly sums up this process: Caminreal Charity. If the edition of 2010 focused on writing and epigraphy, for the year 2011, entitled "Housing and Romanization in the year 100 a. Hispania E. ", will focus on domestic structures, which as La Caridad illustrates perfectly, because it has an urban and housing models clearly influenced by italics, but mainly inhabited by people celtibérica judging from the written materials all in a context that also highlights the complexity of cultural contacts in the middle Ebro valley during this period. The course will also try various sites in the valley of the Ebro and other regions both as the Citerior Hispania Ulterior, and will have a slope practice that includes a workshop held at the Museum of Teruel in which students will be in direct contact with domestic materials from La Caridad, you can visit this site and the restoration shop and interpretive center.

The course includes two practical modules:

1. Workshop at the Museum of Teruel on domestic materials, tableware, kitchen utensils, metal tools and household headings.

2. Visit the site, interpretive center and restoration workshop
