The Iberian lynx population has been reduced over the past 10 years more than 50% due to the persecution suffered by the man, habitat loss and declining rabbit populations, their staple diet. Currently, the Iberian lynx has a very small population, estimated at less than thousand copies, distributed in dozens of sub-populations, the vast majority isolated from each other. This fragmentation of populations is one of the main problems in the medium-term conservation of the species.
